Proxy Bidding Instructions

What Is It?

Proxy bidding lets you set a max bid, and the system will bid for you up to that amount.

How It Works:

  1. Set Your Max Bid: Enter your highest bid amount.
  2. Automatic Bidding: The system places bids for you, increasing as needed to stay ahead.
  3. Max Bid Hidden: Only the system knows your max bid.
  4. Win or Lose: If your bid is highest at auction end, you win. If not, you’re outbid.

Benefits:

  • Set It & Forget It: Once set, the system bids for you.
  • No Need to Watch: You won’t need to monitor the auction.

Example:

  • Set a max bid of $100.
  • If someone bids $75, the system bids $76 on your behalf.
  • If the final bid is $105, you’ll be notified you’ve been outbid.

Popcorn Bidding Instructions (15-Second Timer)

What Is It?

Popcorn Bidding resets the timer to 15 seconds each time a bid is placed in the final 15 seconds to prevent last-minute "sniping."

How It Works:

  1. Timer Resets: If the timer drops below 15 seconds and a bid is placed, the timer resets to 15 seconds.
  2. Auction Continues: Bidding continues until no one bids in the last 15 seconds.

Example:

  • ends in 15 seconds.
  • You bid: Timer resets to 15 seconds.
  • Another bidder bids: Timer resets again.
  • The auction ends when no one bids in the last 15 seconds.

Key Points:

  • Timer resets every time a bid is placed in the final 15 seconds.
  • The auction ends only when no bids are placed in the last 15 seconds.

Good Luck and Happy Bidding!
